What do you believe will define truly effective branded content in the years ahead?

Truly effective branded content will be defined in the year ahead by authenticity and personalization.

Key Insights

I often work at the heart of protecting or promoting reputation - one of the most valuable assets an organization possesses. I have found that custom content partnerships can play a critical role for many clients to communicate in support of their reputations. We know that reputation is earned. And storytelling is a valuable tool in earning reputation as well as promoting and protecting it.I feel as we gain a greater understanding of the true value of reputation, this part of the industry will only continue to grow and shift in prominence as traditional media changes, providing rich opportunity for impactful brand and corporate storytelling.

Signature Work Achievements

I continue to drive impact through strategic corporate communications and purpose programming that often includes the use of custom content to engage audiences. I work across the industry spectrum from healthcare to tech and fashion. I have served as storytelling and content lead for corporate reputation campaign, Here for What Matters for Dollar General - featuring several award-winning native advertising partnerships. I also focus on non-profit and foundation communications - most recently collaborating on the award-winning launch of The Elton John AIDS Foundation’s Rocket Fund.

Career Lessons

Everything is constantly shifting and changing - client needs, agency dynamics, media landscape, technology (hello AI!) - amidst it all, I find it so important to take a moment and focus on the "why" of anything I'm doing. It could be a client project or professional endeavor, but keeping grounded in the meaning behind what I'm doing has been incredibly helpful.

Natasha Whitling Reputation is the most valuable asset an organization has - and it must be earned. Storytelling is at the heart of earning reputation as well as promoting and protecting it.
